The man was held after 11-month-old Zaria C. Fearon was discovered unresponsive in his car.

He was reportedly supposed to take the child to a daycare in Road Town but allegedly forgot and drove to work instead, leaving the child in the backseat of the car for most of the day.

Farhon would have turned a year old on May 11, 2018.

And according to Police Information Officer Diane L. Drayton, the father has since been released from police custody.

All day yesterday my heart was with the mom and family of this angel. I don't know them personally, but as a mother myself and a human being, this tragedy hurts to the core of my stomach. I trust that you continue to find peace, strength, and mercy.

He has received a life sentence. No sentence, however harsh, could equal that.

Let this family rest and they have suffered enough. This was an accident no one wants to go through this. Peace be with them.

Although it was a mistake he could have been charged for involuntary manslaughter/ gross negligent mans laughter as he had no intention but a death occurred due to his act or omission. However I’m glad for his outcome as this was very sad.

No as you ask. Why would he take away the life of this baby for no reason? And gives other babies cancer. ? Fortunately he is just a figment of your wishful imagination.

Something good needs to come of this. Zaria's law. Educate parents and caregivers so this would not happen again.

It is obviously right that there should be no prosecution but whose decision was it to drag the father from the scene of this tragedy under arrest and in handcuffs? Crass, heavy handed, unnecessary and inhumane. Who thought this was the appropriate response?

Can't believe what am hearing from some of these posts. Don't you people have children who depend on you all to protect them. This was not a sack of flour but a precious angel. That is why society is the way it is today, people are not held accountable for their actions/negligence. Thank God there is a higher being whose arms she currently being protected in. He deserve to be charge
