SEA COW'S BAY, Tortola, VI - A Kittitian living in the Virgin Islands (VI) for a number of years and worked for Government, was last week found guilty of raping his then 15 year-old daughter.

The incest by the 43 year-old father, took place in 2015, at his home in Sea Cow's Bay, on the main island of Tortola.

According to court records, the young child arrived on Tortola from the sister island of Jost van Dyke for a family function and was picked up by her father.

Was he drunk?

He reportedly then took her to their Sea Cow's Bay, home around December 15, 2015, but not before going ‘bar hopping’ while his young daughter remained in his automobile.

After hitting up a few bars, the man then drove his daughter to his house and gave her a kiss on her cheek and then on her mouth, according to court records.

This seems not to have sufficed, as he reportedly then got on top of her and inserted his penis in her vagina.

The teenage girl reportedly made attempts to push him off, while asking him to stop, screaming “daddy stop,” according to what Justice Ann-Marie Smith, heard from the Crown Prosecutors.

Moments after committing the act of rape, the father left the home by car, after which the daughter sought help from neighbours and was taken to Peebles Hospital, by a retired police officer.

DNA match

The father had reportedly told her not to tell “anyone” in exchange for “anything” she wanted from him, the child told police investigators.

Once at the hospital, her story was confirmed, as seminal fluid was found in the girl’s vaginal cavity after an examination by a doctor.

A DNA sample taken from the father, matched the seminal fluid found in the victim.

He has since been found guilty of rape and will be sentenced on January 14, 2019, and remains at Her Mastery’s Prison.

Too much information, this is a small island. We have to protect our young people. These girls are teenagers even if they are active or not. Imagine how they feel when they read the news. Imagine what a stigma their friends and society will put on them. These young people are humans and we all have something within us which is called selfworth. Imagine when they are alone and they get flashbacks on the heart wrenching sexual behaviour. Especially by folks who should be protecting, caring, educating; motivation and the ones who they trust due to the fact You Are My Father You are my Mother. This type of behaviour is going on too long. We need to Put a STOP to IT NOW. If we don't put a stop to it NOW. Peer pressure is going to step in. This lewd behaviour can develop into a series of social issues. Due to the stigma our young people can or may develop a series of social and mental issues throughout their life.
Then we will be wailing and singing Safe in the Arm of Jesus. Why we wait until something happen to fix the situation? Let us protect and save our future generation. Now and Always
    Bless up One Love
Let us save our YOUTH Our Future Leaders

I agree. Take out the place of residence from the article. People will sooner or later put two and two together and then the child’s identity is known....people talk and she shouldn’t have to be subjected to hearing this everywhere she goes.

Even though I know both parties in this matter the news media didn't need to give so much damaging information that will affect the young lady and her other siblings.... it's sad someone like you get carried away and fall into something like you...
