ROAD TOWN, Tortola, VI – The US Virgin Islands (USVI) Men’s Basketball team, featuring Deon J. Edwin, were soundly defeated by the United States, 90-62, on Saturday September 2, 2017 and will go on to play Mexico in the 3rd/4th place play off in the FIBA AmeriCup 2017.

Once again, the strong defense of the USA team allowed them to compensate their low effectiveness in outside throws. Fast attacks, short possessions and making the most out of the rivals’ errors were the victory’s convincing tactics.

Xavier Munford, with 20 points and 10 rebounds, was the game’s outstanding player.

Cuthbert Victor's triple at the beginning of the game was the most satisfactory moment for the Virgin Islands’ squad.

Edwin played just over 15 minutes and finished with 2 points, 2 rebounds, 1 assist and 1 steal.
