Dr Turnbull lambastes those abusing laws to ‘enslave’ the people

Reverend, Dr Melvin A. Turnbull, has lashed out those in the Territory “…so naive that we see ourselves as God, we have the audacity to see ourselves as the legal and moral authority” and “we intentionally create an environment using the laws of power to keep people dependent on us.” Photo: VINO/File

CANE GARDEN BAY, Tortola, VI - Cane Garden Bay Baptist Church (CGBBC) Reverend, Dr Melvin A. Turnbull, has lashed out those in the Territory “…so naive that we see ourselves as God, we have the audacity to see ourselves as the legal and moral authority” and “we intentionally create an environment using the laws of power to keep people dependent on us.”

This, according to a Press Release issued by the CGBBC, on July 30, 2018, which quoted Reverend Turnbull as positing, that in such a situation, “what we do is create a perception where people are made to believe that we are doing them a favour, when in fact we have a responsibility to do so.”

Selfish

Dr Turnbull prefaced his comments by reminding, “it is almost 10 months later and as a Territory we continue to grapple with the realities of recovering from the devastating effects of Hurricanes Irma and Maria.”

He said too, “additionally, we have not yet swallowed the reality that soon our registers of beneficial owners will be made public; in fact for Overseas Territories.”

He said, “the day after the hurricane everyone was happy and relieved to see each other, but then when we realised that our realities were improving daily, we went right back to where we were—selfish and not selfless!”

As such, Reverend Turnbull said, “I am therefore encouraging us to pay attention for we—as a people we have always been under attack…Divide and conquer has been the strategy used by the enemy for centuries to frustrate our togetherness and impede our progress…So let us stay focused as a people, for this is the best way for us to be stronger together.”

Control

According to the CGBBC Senior Pastor, “…we were never meant to control humans; we were created to have dominion over the earth – the other creatures,” and drew reference to slavery which resulted in the diaspora – the scattering of one people; geographically, socially, economically, and mentally.

Slavery, he said, “is what happened to us, not who we are,” adding “stay focused as a people, for this is the best way for us to be stronger together…It is not about loving things and using people…It is about practicing and promoting the power of love over the love of power which leads to a divided people.

He makes some valid points and speaketh truth, but as a pastor he should also state that the same religion he is spewing was and still is a major contributor to the economic and mental enslavement of our people.

Preachers or Fronting Preachers need to stay in the bosom of GOD and pray for the Country and People. Your Son is NDP Vice President and Your other Son is a Party Member. When you around people and they there mention the NDP in any obvious negative light, you fume and walk away. So you talk about beneficial registry instead of GOD, You have a few companies in there Rev. ? Your Brother-in-Law the other Preacher/ Bishop and he Lawyer Girl NDP Founders say they were organizing March but again they caught us in a doop saying UK was Bad. Is it true Rev? Do they have something to hide? Preach for the Country Rev, Represent the thoughts of GOD. The Salt Water from IRMA already washed away the cover that were put over our eyes, It is not coming back. Our Court Ruling coming in a few months. Pray for the Country Rev. The Most Highest will take your suggestion into advisement.
