Dr Marcia Potter returned as CXC® Deputy Chair for another 3 years

GEORGETOWN, Guyana, SA- Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Education in the [British] Virgin Islands (VI) Dr Marcia Potter will continue for another three years as the Deputy Chair of the Barbados-based Caribbean Examinations Council (CXC).

CXC in a press release today, April 30, 2024, said it was during the 59th meeting of the Council (Board of Governors) of the Caribbean Examinations Council (CXC®), held on December 8, 2023, in the Cooperative Republic of Guyana, Council members re-elected Professor Sir Hilary M. Beckles, Vice-Chancellor of The University of the West Indies, to the post of Chair and Dr Marcia Potter to the post of Deputy Chair.

Professor Beckles and Dr Potter were re-elected to serve for the triennium period 2024 to 2026.

3rd consecutive triennium for Professor Beckles & Dr Potter

CXC said Council Members demonstrated their confidence in Professor Beckles and Dr Potter's leadership, as this will be the third consecutive triennium for which they have been elected to serve the region.

The Chair and Deputy Chair are credited with providing and maintaining prudent governance and policy oversight of the Caribbean Examinations Council.

CXC said the current transformation agenda is for the creation of innovative policy solutions in response to national human capacity development imperatives. To this end, the Council’s Board of Governors approved the strategic repositioning of CXC® within a resilient construct for organisational agility, operational flexibility, and institutional capability.

      I met her in 1985 at BVI High. Which means She has been In education ( BVI) almost 40 years —- She doesn’t look a day older than 40 - carry on Dr Potter and impart knowledge and wisdom to those who wish to acquire

      I could tell you have a problem with this Stature Industry, and it's wrapping you up in toilet tissue.
      Mrs Potter has always been a big contributor to this territory, in the line ofdeveloping the young Brains..Her Services are highly appreciated and have always been of great value to our Educational advancement..
      In the Administración sector she is an asset to our Government, especially in our local and internacional affairs..
      We are very Proud to claim her as one of our greatest Stature recipientes with an outpouring source of integrity.

      Isn’t the BVI surrounded by water? Then the BVI is also called an island. People in this territory behave as if they’re superior to other islands but their mental capacity isn’t far off from chickens and ants.

    Dr Potter taught me social studies at the then BVI High School in 1985 first form. She was one of my favorite teachers back then. Congratulations to her on this appointment!
