ROAD TOWN, Tortola, VI - Elmore Stoutt High School recorded a double victory in Friday’s BVI Rugby Union’s High School Championship, notching wins against St Georges in the U15 Final and securing victories over Cedar School and the Seventh-day Adventist School in the U17’s.

The U17 Tournament became a round robin format after the late withdrawal of the St Georges Team and ESHS soon put themselves in pole position with a 6-0 romp over SDA to secure a win in the day’s first game.

Cedar International then set up a Championship decider by narrowly overcoming the SDA 3-2.

Cedar, however, even with the likes of Noel Maxwell and Austin Kiel amongst their ranks were no match for ESHS, who boasted the likes of Victor Amparo, Raphael Singh and Tavoy Morgan, to name but three.

The final score of 5-2 gave the Coach, Kareem Etienne, much to celebrate. “They performed very well today; we had a tough match against Cedar, but came through undefeated so am delighted,” he said.

The U15 Championship also went the way of ESHS, but was a much harder fought affair with the final itself going into double over time before a Kenrick Thomas score settled the game for ESHS against St Georges.

ESHS beat the same opponents, 3-2, during the group stages and progressed with further wins against Cedar “A”, 4-2, the same score line saw them victorious against Cedar “B” and they went onto to remain unbeaten with a 4-0 win over the Seven Day Adventist School.

Meanwhile St Georges beat SDA 3-0, Cedar “B” 2-0 and Cedar “A” also 2-0. In other games Cedar “A” beat SDA 5-4 and also Cedar “B” 3-2.
