ROAD TOWN, Tortola, VI -Digicel is proud to be the Platinum Sponsor of the largest fundraiser for the Elmore Stoutt High School, the Miss Fifth Form Pageant which will take place on Saturday, February 1, 2014 at the Multipurpose Sports Complex. Digicel has identified the Miss Fifth Form Pageant as a program that gives young people an opportunity to showcase their talents and abilities.

The newly crowned Miss Fifth Form will be a Digicel ambassador for a year and will have the opportunity to represent her school as well as Digicel in an official capacity. Digicel has been identifying brand ambassadors though out the community to reflect the Be Extraordinary ideals. They look for fresh, friendly and engaging personalities that are dedicated to dynamic and challenging activities. With that being said, it is no wonder that Miss Fifth Form has been chosen to be a part of the Digicel family.

“The theme of this year’s pageant is ‘Success is not a Destination; It’s a Journey,’ and the Miss Fifth Form Pageant is just that, a journey. We take the contestants through self-development workshops to make sure that they are prepared not just for the night of the pageant but also when they go out into the world,” said pageant Chairperson Ms. Bisa Smith.

Digicel’s PR Executive Jasmine Perez added, “Young people need to have opportunities to challenge themselves and gain experience. I know firsthand how a competition is able to open doors, build confidence and nurture ambition, and I’m excited to be part of providing that chance for someone else.” The girls will compete in a variety of segments that celebrate intelligence, talent and inner and outer beauty.

The Miss Fifth Form Pageant was established in 1986 when it was first called the Miss BVI High School Pageant. Since then, it has become an event to look forward to every year.  As the largest fundraiser for the Elmore Stoutt School, Digicel asks that persons come out to support these young women as they showcase their abilities. In addition to being a brand ambassador, the winner of the Miss Fifth Form 2014 will also be rewarded with a handset from Digicel along with one year of free service.  Digicel BVI aims to support worthwhile activities that empower members of the community. This is just one of the many programs and events supported by Digicel BVI.
