Digicel reopens flagship store on Waterfront Drive
According to Kevin R. Gordon, CEO of Digicel, “We have introduced ‘Smart Serve’ in our experience stores which is an intelligent digital queue and customer flow management system. This will significantly reduce wait times, provide a flexible shopping experience and greatly increase the quality of service we are able to deliver. In addition, it will provide us with intelligence on customer requests, service times and agent performance, so that we can monitor and improve processes.”
Customers were treated to the melodious sounds of Digicel’s adopted school, Althea Scatliffe Primary Striders Drum Corps, Following, the ribbon of the new flagship store was cut and customers rushed in to experience communication and entertainment at its very best.

In an exclusive interview with the CEO of Digicel, he expressed profound excitement for the opening of Digicel’s flagship store, while noting that it’s all about the customer experience.
“We are feeling elated and it is an exciting time for Digicel and it’s an exciting time for the BVI and I think it’s an exciting time for our customers as well. What we have done is try to align the brand with our new customer centric focus which is putting our customers first and so the entire look and feel of the operation is just again customer centric, customer focused,” he said with excitement.
Mr Gordon explained to our news reporter that there is a discovery area where children will be able to play games and also watch movies, while interacting with the devices. There is a community and explore area "where you have what is called a smart ring" that persons will be able to view their homes from their device as well as open and lock their doors from a Digicel data phone.
He said, “It’s an exciting time and I’m just feeling elated and I’m feeling happy that we have come to this milestone in our history of Digicel.”
“Digicel believes in giving back” – Andy A. Jeffers
Meanwhile, Andy A. Jeffers, Marketing Executive at Digicel stated that working at Digicel has been an “amazing experience” but admits that it’s overwhelming as well.
“It is actually an amazing experience for me, coming from the retail staff to now being the marketing executive. This is an amazing job for me and it is overwhelming to open a store,’ adding that members of Digicel were preparing for the opening until 11:00 PM and back again at 6:00 AM just to ensure that they were ready for the opening.
Mr Jeffers explained that Digicel believes in giving back to the community and thinking big for the customers to enjoy the customer experience.
He expressed with a smile on his face, “Digicel believes in giving back and by giving back we think big, so it’s not just here in the store it’s throughout the community within the Virgin Islands because we do believe in the holistic development of the Virgin Islands (VI).”
Brenda B. Sahagun, a native of the Philippines, was the first customer to enter the store after the cutting of the ribbon and she was presented with a gift bag, which included a Digicel cellphone.
Our news reporter caught up with her and she said, “I’m very happy because I was not expecting this. I’ve been a customer with Digicel for 6 years since I first moved to the BVI and I must say that their service is very good.”
Speaking with other Digicel customers in the store, Ms Anna G. Lewis commented that she has been a Digicel customer for 5 years and she is very happy with their service.
“Digicel is the number one service provider. Even through Irma they were helping out their customers and they never fail. People should switch to Digicel,” said Ms Lewis.
