PORT PURCELL, Tortola, VI- Word reaching our news centre from persons familiar with the appointment is that Operations Manager at the BVI Ports Authority (BVIPA) and former Deputy Commissioner of Customs, Mr Dean Byron Fahie has been recommended by the Board of Directors to act in the post of Managing Director.

Details are unclear as to the terms and conditions of his appointment and whether the Board’s recommendation has reached the Cabinet of Premier and Minister of Finance, Honourable Andrew A. Fahie (R1).

A few days ago our news centre reported that a new Chairman of the BVIPA had been named, in the person of Kelvin E. Hodge of Freeman’s Cay, Tortola, following the sudden resignation of Nathaniel Issacs Sr.

The Premier holds the portfolio of the seaports and airports.

Hon Fahie, when reached for comments, did not admit or deny knowledge of the recommendation but said he was heading into a Cabinet meeting.

Just my experience, might be a wonderful human being... Seemed like the kind of guy that was way too eager to lay out fines while he was at HM Customs. As if he was padding his Christmas bonus.

Seems like you have issues with the man personally. Lots you in the bvi does not like to play by the dam rules, get comfortable with complacency and expect the greater good. Get real.

More like the rules get applied as and when it suits. Let's dig around and see if we can apply something obscure today! Arbitrary & capricious.
