ROAD TOWN, Tortola, VI – Former Premier of the Turks and Caicos Islands (TCI), Michael E. Misick has warned that the Commission of Inquiry (CoI) currently on the way in the Virgin Islands (VI) could very well be a pre-emptive strike against the territory’s upcoming constitutional review.

“I wouldn't be surprised if this is not a preemptive strike… because obviously, coming out, the Commissioner… will make certain recommendations that is clearly in the UK interest and out of that there will come a constitutional review and out of that review, the BVI’s constitution will be diluted,” he said.

The former leader of TCI government business, was at the time speaking on a Monday, February 15, 2021, interview with 284 Media.

Future will tell the truth

“I don’t want to sound like a prophet. I may be dead and gone but someone in the BVI will say that Misick from the Turks and Caicos was telling the truth,” he said.

The now embattled Misick said he is just sounding the alarm so that VI does not end up like the Turks and Caicos Islands where the constitution was suspended and his government booted from office after the conclusion of the CoI.

“I believe that when you look at all of the territories especially in the Caribbean, all of us have the ability to govern ourselves, all of us have the financial ability to sustain ourselves,” Mr Misick detailed while alleging that the UK is specifically targeting Black OTs and not the others.

The method which ex-governor Augustus J. U. Jaspert used to announce the CoI, which included keeping the local government in the dark about his intentions while colluding with the UK press, has raised questions about the real motive for the CoI.

UK going after pro-independence leaders

According to Misick, the UK government has shown a pattern going after Caribbean leaders who stand up to them, including himself, for being pro-independence and wanting a self-determined future for their people.

He said that while he cannot say if that is the case against Premier Andrew A. Fahie (R1), Mr Misick alleged that the UK agenda is bigger than any one person.

Premier Fahie has insisted that independence is not a matter of 'if' but 'when' and it is important for the VI to ensure it is not caught unprepared. His sentiments have been shared by all legislators of the House of Assembly (HoA).

Over in the TCI, Mr Misick said the UK plan was to take over the county, put their own laws in place and systematically change the country while sending a signal to future pro-independence politicians.

UK not needed in C'bean - Misick

Mr Misick called for British OTs to have the confidence to manage themselves and realise that the British Government is not needed, "the British will throw you under the bus any day to protect their interests," he said.

Mr Misick further called for OTs to come together and collectively come up with a plan for independence, given the future of the OTs are tied to regional countries and North America and not Britain.

      Soooo True...

If you think the UK isn't corrupt, you haven't looked hard enough

As public outrage grows over the billions of pounds of coronavirus contracts issued by the government without competition, it seems determined only to award more of them. Never mind that the consulting company Deloitte, whose personnel circulate in and out of government, has been strongly criticised for the disastrous system it devised to supply protective equipment to the NHS. It has now been granted a massive new contract to test the population for Covid-19.

Cummings ally's PR firm given Covid-19 contracts without tenders
Never mind that some of these contracts have reportedly cost taxpayers £800 for every protective overall delivered. Never mind that at least two multi-million pound contracts appear to have been issued to dormant companies. Awarding contracts to unusual companies, without advertising, transparency or competition now appears to have been adopted as the norm. Several of the firms that have benefited from this largesse are closely linked to senior figures in the government....

People! My People! please do not forget that the UK plant evidence against M just to prove their point. They are doing the same thing in the BVI trying to force people to tell lies on others in the name of collecting information.

Time to march for freedom and justice yall

I agree with you. What gives this man credibility to even be consulted on our situation. He was stealing tax payers money to live a lavish life with his then celebrity wife. Folks need to investigate his background. UK didn’t have to plant anything on him. He brought the problems to his country. He needs to take a seat in the back.

And after 11 years no conviction. So what’s your point? The man is innocent unless and until proven guilty. In the mean time Turks tax payers funding all these cases at $10 million a year and who getting paid? Another man take over your house and running the show you would run for safety too. You people don’t know the half that goes on when string powers target you for their own agenda.
