ROAD TOWN, Tortola, VI – In response to being nominated to wear pink and donate to the cause of cancer awareness Caribbean Insurers Limited (CIL)’s staff yesterday October 10, 2014 came out donned in pink as they stepped up to the cause.

The insurance provider made a donation of an undisclosed amount to the BVI Cancer Society and showed support by bringing recognition to the fight of the dreaded disease.

Speaking to this news site, Director at CIL Simone T. Monsanto explained that Raul ‘Jugo’ Sprauve, the lead vocalist of VIBE Band had nominated CIL to wear pink and to donate to the Cancer Society and yesterday’s event was in response to that nomination.

“We also have to get two other companies to follow the chain reaction for wearing pink and donating. We have already consulted two and by Friday they will be wearing pink and donating to the Cancer Society,” said Monsanto.

Speaking with this news site,  Trustee of the BVI Cancer Society Mrs Roselia James-Dawson said that on behalf of President of the Society Gloria A. Fahie she extended sincere thanks to CIL for their continued support.

“As you know cancer is on the rise, especially breast cancer and what we have noticed is younger persons are being diagnosed. And of course the increase of requests for assistance are constantly coming in…therefore every donation whether large or small they are all accepted,” said James-Dawson.

This news site understands that in addition to the donation by CIL itself, staff of the insurance provider also made donations.
