Career night for Edwin as Golden Flashes beat Oberlin
Edwin scored a career high 17 points on 7-for-10 shooting and had nine rebounds to lead Kent State in a wire-to-wire 104-58 win over Oberlin in the Golden Flashes' final tune up before Mid-American Conference play.
"I was very pleased with the effort," said Kent State head coach Rob Senderoff, whose Flashes finished non-conference play at 9-4. "Everyone who stepped on the floor tonight played hard and contributed. It's a quick turnaround for us now to get ready for the start of the Mid-American Conference season on Tuesday at Western Michigan.”
Kent State dominated every statistical category, outscoring Oberlin 62-16 in the paint, 31-14 off of turnovers, 15-4 on second chances, 16-7 in transition and 44-21 off of the bench. The Flashes also controlled the boards 48-23.
Edwin, making just his second start of the season, played 25 minutes and made one of his three “3” pointer attempts, went two for two from the free throw line, picked up one assist and made four steals.
