Can anyone spell in the NDP? 'Queen’s English' maybe?
While we do not have late night television shows in the Virgin Islands (VI), both the real intellectual class and social media had a good laugh after reading a 'Thank You' sign posted in Sea Cows Bay from losing NDP candidate Kevin C. Smith.
The sign, with less than 8 words, had an error in it. Instead of saying we thank you “for your...” it stated “for you....” While we here at our newsroom have to read more than 40 stories a week and are not pretending to be perfect, as errors do tend to creep in from time to time, we are not lucky to have a ton of consultants paid for by the state to help us proofread or spin things.
So while the NDP spokeswoman, the now controversial Eileene L. Parsons, is up and down claiming that the re-elected Government is the party with “brains” and “bright boys” that can speak the “Queen’s English”, maybe she can start off by volunteering to edit and proofread all materials coming out of her camp.
Maybe only then the academic class will take her seriously!
But that might just be too much for our cultural icon, the OBE, as she will have to spend all day on two particular Ministries of government where cabinet papers are often sent back for grammar and clarity.
Oh, back to the topic at hand. While the author of this article is not from D3, we say you are welcomed Mr Smith and sorry we were not invited to the ‘Thank You’ party last night!

A letter is missing from a word, a small mistake, and it becomes the greatest thing to talk about. The message for me and many others is clear and well appreciated. OJ is thanking the voters of D3 and that says volume. There are so much more important things to write about and people are taking up so much time with this little error. I guess it is only because he is an NDP and is doing something good.
Oj need to remove it fast his m****r should be able to spell
.
I am lost!
