Cafe tenants allowed to remove belongings from Cutlass Tower!

ROAD TOWN, Tortola, VI – Workers were observed busily moving items around at the Indulgence Bakery Café yesterday, March 3, 2014 after being denied access to the business place for one month.

While owners declined to comment on the current status of the issue, sources indicated that the tenants were allowed back into the building to remove their belongings but both parties still await a final decision from the court. After the removal of the belongings the cafe remains boarded up as it was a month ago.

Building owner Mrs Patsy Lake also declined to offer any comment on the situation.

Allegations had been levelled by several persons that the owners of the Bakery were asked to remove from the premises after breaching terms of the agreement for the lease they had signed to operate the business.

The owners have since denied this, with Proprietor Morsha Smith noting that the business owners had been given permission to operate a bakery on the ground floor and had been doing this all along.

They were allegedly served notice on December 4, 2013 by building owner, Ms Patsy Lake, to vacate the premises within a one month period.

According to Ms Smith, the notice was served despite the fact that the tenants had not breached their contract in anyway whatsoever. She further alleged, “[this was] after we signed the five-year lease and made all payments on time...”

    This is a sad situation. Since I really dont know the facts..and that really we will only be going off of he say she say until more is revealed by the courts; I'm just wondering if this matter couldn't be sorted out in a peaceful manner.

      Perhaps they are removing their belongings so that they can rebuild their business elsewhere! People don't live on air you know? By the time this thing goes to court, it will be around 2016 for heaven's sake!

    What a thing. What's going on with her other building up on the highway that she made all that fuss about? She really think anybody crazy enough to rent that space? LMAO!!!! She will need to rent it as storage or start One Stop Mall II because I don't see anybody being foolish enough to rent that hazard zone.

    No One can Hold Mrs. Lake Down she has vision and a true business woman with a good heart who dont know her personally leave her name out of your mouth. She is a very blessed woman. No one can keep her down. only good people achieve the things she owns and she does works 24/7.
