ROAD TOWN, Tortola, VI- Some workers of the BVI Recreation Trust are alleging that they have gone unpaid for over a month and said the situation has become extremely frustrating especially now that it is the Christmas season.

The workers are imploring the Trust to ‘have a heart’ and ensure that they are paid before Christmas so that they and their families can also enjoy the season.

“They have a set of people working for Government and its more than a month since they haven’t been paid. They just keep hearing all the time, next week or whatever. We can’t shop and we have rent and other bills to pay. Everybody else in Government getting paid two times for the month and we here didn’t get paid for November, and this has been happening time and time again,” a source told Virgin Islands News Online.

Meanwhile, Chairman of the BVI Recreation Trust Mr Roy N. Barry said he had no knowledge of what the workers were alleging.

The BVI Recreation Trust is a Statutory Body under the Ministry of Education and Culture.

Minister for Education and Culture Hon Myron V. Walwyn could not be reached for comment.

You can't tax the unemployed, and you can't spend what you don't have. Fiscal management is revenue earned from taxation, public spending and managing debt, not creating it. interprtation NDP is bad for our finances

More NDP spin wouldn't affect mistakes the people have made. NDP has become weaker with things like this
