ROAD TOWN, Tortola, VI - At least one person is said to have been seriously injured following an accident involving a motor scooter and a pickup truck at the Wickham's Cay II intersection this evening, November 30, 2012.

According to reports, the scooter bearing license plate MC821 was heading east on the Walter Francis dual carriageway when it came into contact with the right side of the pickup.

The incident reportedly occurred around 6PM.

One of the two persons on the scooter was said to have appeared seriously injured and has since been taken to Peebles Hospital by an ambulance.

Spots of blood were still visible at the scene of the accident up to post time.

      So sad, everytime this is reported. When will drivers and riders learn to have respect for the road. It's common sense.... drive with caution people.

        No amount of cameras, wardens, police, fines, you name it can stop this.....A speeding car and motor bike is an accident waiting to happen....There are a list of factors involved in an accident,speed is only one......

          when everyone learn to obey rules like stopping at the red light then these freak accidents will stop, those guys need to thank GOD to be alive today, they are really lucky !!!

        Drivers of cars and bikes we must be more careful on the roads. Too many innocent people are losing there lifes because of reckless drivers and riders. BE RESPONSIBLE!
