Body Surfaces near Cruz Bay Harbor USVI; Police investigating

ST. JOHN, USVI — The body of a black male individual was found floating in the Cruz Bay Harbor near the Customs dock in the Unites States Virgin Island (USVI) Thursday morning, February 14, 2019.

Police are currently investigating the matter, USVIPD Public Information Officer, Glen Dratte has announced with no, foul play had suspected as of Thursday.

Mr. Dratte said officers and support units responded to the scene and discovered a body in the water floating at about 7:00 a.m.

The deceased was identified by family members as 43-year-old Deon Stephen.

The case remains under investigation pending a medical examiner’s findings based on autopsy results, police said.
