ROAD TOWN, Tortola, VI - Police are confirming that the body of a 30-year-old male U.S. visitor was found in the waters off Norman Island.

Initial investigations indicated that the deceased was among eight visitors that sailed from St. Thomas onboard the vessel, ‘Blue Moon’ and docked in the waters off Norman Island.

Late last night, the group went onshore for dinner and drinks onboard a dinghy. Upon returning to the vessel, members of the party discovered the deceased missing.

Virgin Islands Search and Rescue and Police Marine Branch who assisted with a search, located the man early this morning in the waters close to the vessel.

The deceased name is being withheld at this point.
