ROAD TOWN, Tortola, VI- On Thursday April 14, 2016 the BVI Motor Sports Association (BMSA) made two donations as it continues its community service with the aim of helping those who are in need and making the community of the Virgin Islands better.

The donations were made to a student of the Enid Scatliffe Primary School (ESPS) and to the Eslyn Henley Richiez (EHR) Learning Centre.

“These donations are just one of many that we intend to present to various schools as the year progresses," stated President of BMSA, Roy M.Thomas.

"At the last event which was the family fun day, held at the pier park, we collected monies at the gate. Those monies were collected as a donation rather than a fee, to enter the park for this sole purpose; to give back to the community. Some of those proceeds went towards what we did today and we intend to visit a few other schools," stated BMSA Public Relations Officer Keilah M. Varlack.

“Today, Mr. Roy M. Thomas, President, Ms Keilah M. Varlack, PRO and other members of the BVI Motor Sports Association including Lazarus Parsons, Will Smith, Kareem Douglas and Janaia Thomas donated $125 gift certificates funded by the Association and Bobby's Supermarket to K'Shijah Young at the Enid Scatliffe Primary School. We also presented the teacher of that student Mrs Enid Thomas with a gift basket as a token of our appreciation,” said Varlack.

According to her, Mrs Thomas taught most of the members of the association, as well as their children.

“She also assists the Association with any event that they may have, seeing that she is the mother of the President of the association,” said Varlack.

The Association on that same day donated a wheelchair to the Eslyn Henley Richiez Learning Centre which was well appreciated by the principal Mrs Vansittart Huggins and her students. Mrs Janice Brathwaite-Edwards, Laura Smith, Vice-President and Vishal Singh (member) presented the donation, beginning with a song, sang by the students along with all members of BMSA.

In December 2015, the Association donated another wheelchair to the Adina Donovan Home.

The Association's next fundraising event will be their Mother's Day luncheon which will be on Friday May 6, 2016.
