Bayside Blazers wins championship in 2019 K&J open division

-Walked away with $1200 cash; ‘AND 1’ wins U18 Title

ROAD TOWN, Tortola, VI - In its 5th year, the K&J 3x3, 2-day Tournament ended yesterday Sunday, March 31, 2019, and was organized by veteran basketball player Kennedy H. Bass along with local basketball superstar Jason A. Edwin.

With a series of games in many different categories and a ton of prizes, the games kicked off on Saturday, March 30, 2019, and in the Under 18 age group, the big prize was won by ‘AND 1’ pushing off the Junior Bayside Blazers.  ‘AND 1’ was coached by Kyle J. Ricketts aka ‘Scoop’ and the star players were Nixon M. Hamilton, T'Quan Stoutt, Diorys Joseph, and Elroy Bolder.

Bayside Blazers again!

For the Championship game in the open division, the senior Bayside Blazers show that in whatever basketball league they participate in, the team remains a force to be reckoned with.

They defeated some three teams for a clean sweep leading up to the Championship and walked away with the Big Prize of $1200.00 cash.

On Saturday, Bayside Blazers superstar player Killven M. Samuel got injured to the nose and could not play on Sunday, leading to him being replaced by Dwayne M. Stoutt.  The other Bayside Blazers super team players were Tavon J. Phillip, Louie A. R. Poblete, and Nathaniel J. Malone. The team was coach by Eustance C. Freeman aka “Boss.”

Bayside Blazers is owned and managed by Julian Willock and was sponsored by Nagico, Caribbean Cellars, Bank of Asia and Anchor Designs.

The 2019 K&J Tournament also saw the appearance of Hon Kye M. Rymer (D5) the Minister for Transportation, Works and Utilities and Hon Julian Fraser RA, (D3) along with his wife Mrs Kharid T. Fraser who is the Chair of the Hon Julian Fraser Save the Seed National Basketball League.
