Bayside Blazers spank Knights in a 104-83 blowout!

-Avengers got an easy game with another win over Pilipino 122 to 63
Despite having two of their big guns Sandy E. Nadal and Chaurbin V. Smith out due to injuries, the high flying Bayside Blazers easily defeated the Knights 104 – 83 in a near blowout as the Hon. DUFF’S BOTTOM, Tortola, VI – Despite having two of their big guns Sandy E. Nadal and Chaurbin V. Smith out due to injuries, the high flying Bayside Blazers easily defeated the Knights 104 – 83 in a near blowout as the Hon. Julian Fraser Save the Seed National Basketball League continued last night September 14, 2014.

The Blazers now seem well and truly back on the Championship path as they swept aside the Knights at the Save the Seed Energy Centre in Duff’s Bottom.

Louie A. Poblete put a so far unusually quiet season behind him with an explosive 30 point performance and Lyle W. Duggins added 22 as the Blazers blew away their opposition in what turned out a one sided game despite some pre match hype.

The Bayside Blazers now have five wins and one controversial loss out of six games played. The team is owned and managed by Julian Willock. The Head Coach is Rhennie O. Phipps and Assistant Coach Jason A. Edwin. The team Captain is Rhodni A. Skelton.

The first game on Sunday saw the Jr. Young Starz beat the Jr. West Gunners, 48-44, in large part to Keanu Baker’s 12 point and 15 rebound game. J’moi Levons added 11 points with 6 rebounds and Isiah Thomas finished with 10 points.

The Gunners were led by D’Andre Penn who scored 13 points with 5 rebounds, 2 steals and 3 blocks.

The Avengers then put down a statement of intent with a 122-63 thrashing of the Pilipinos, which brought to an end a winning streak based on the back of the number one draft pick, Eustace “Boss” Freeman who was absent from last night's game.

Juanito Diaz was the only scorer of note for the Pilipinos with 26 points, 5 rebounds, 4 assists and 1 steal.
