Bayside Blazers & Knights clinch convincing League wins

DUFF’S BOTTOM, Tortola, VI - The ‘Knights’ kept up their winning streak when action continued over the weekend in the Honourable Julian Fraser, Save the Seed National Basketball League 2018.

‘Knights’ came up against the ‘Bayside Blazers’ whose, Dione M. Blyden’s 12 points, with eight rebounds and three steals, fell short of securing a win on Sunday, September 2, 2018.

Jamal K. Serrant’s 20 points—12 of which were from the three-point line—along with six rebounds, four steals and three assists, led the way for the ‘Knights’.

Impressive Performance

Teammate Nichols Charles also netted four from the three-point line, scoring 16 points for the ‘Knights.’

Game #1 of the evening’s matchups, saw Da3RD narrowly defeating ‘Warrias’ by one point.

That game ended 79-78, with DA3RD’s Jaimeiz A. Stoutt putting on another impressive performance with 16 points, eight rebounds and five assists.

Nathaniel J. Malone’s 15 points with five rebounds and five assists, along with Juan Richard, who also scored 15, grabbing 14 rebounds and five assists, was not enough to bring home the game for the ‘Warrias.’

Action in the Junior League saw ‘High Speed’ easing past Beast Mode with a 10 point blowout.

High Speed’s T,Quan Bodkin dominated the court, netting 13 of the team’s 30 points, along with three steals.

Beast Mode’s top scorer was Lemar Jackson, who managed six points with six rebounds and four steals.

That game ended with ‘Beast Mode’ being bested 30-20 by ‘High Speed.’

Energy Centre

Action the previous night—Saturday, September 1, 2018—at the Save the Seed Energy Centre, saw ‘High Speed’ demolishing the ‘East Cavaliers’ in another 10 point blow-out.

Saturday night’s games also saw the Junior’ Bayside Blazers’ toppling Beast Mode, 49-39.

In the senior division, the ‘Bayside Blazers’ demolished their opponents, ‘We Dem Boys’ in a 100-70, beat down.

Convincing Win

Tavon J. Phillip led the way for the ‘Bayside Blazers’ with 17 points, three rebounds and two steals.

‘We Dem Boys,’ Hakeem Penn’s 25 point run—including four 3-pointers—six rebounds, four steals and three assists, were no match for the combined efforts of their opponents, all of whom scored in the double figures.

‘Momentum’ also convincingly overcame the ‘Splash Brothers’ players 81-67, in their Saturday, September 1, 2018, clash.

Kitwana Rhymer led the way dominating on the offense and defense, netting 17 points and grabbing 10 rebounds, a steal and two assists.
