Bandits rob couple @ Lower Hope Hill

ROAD TOWN, Tortola, VI – Police are investigating an aggravated burglary at the home of a couple in the Lower Hope Hill area early yesterday morning, March 28, 2016.

Initial inquiries indicate that the male resident was entering his premises around 2am in the morning with proceeds from a bar he operated, when he was pushed through the door by a gunman. Once inside, the intruder was joined by a second gunman who demanded money from both he and the female occupant of the home.

The intruders then fled with monies from both occupants.

One assailant is described as slim built, dark, around 5’6 tall and weighing about 180 pounds. He was at the time wearing a white pair of shoes, dark pants, a white t-shirt, a piece of cloth covering his face. The second male assailant is described as 5’11 tall, weighing about 220 pounds. At the time, he was wearing dark clothing and his face covered with a cloth.

The couple was not injured in the incident.

Police are asking the public for assistance with information that can help to identify the assailants in this aggravated burglary. Persons are asked to call Police through its three-digit access number 311 or contact detectives within the Major Crime Team directly at 368-5682. Persons can also give that information to the Intelligence Unit at 368-9339 or report the information anonymously to Crimestoppers through its Miami-based hotline number 800-TIPS (8477).

    They were watching that man. More than likely they were in his place of business pretending to be customers that night.
