Aubrey M. Levons aka 'Bego' laid to rest today November 18, 2017
The funeral service and viewing were held at the Anegada Church of God and interment at his private family burial ground.
Mr Levons, an Anegadian icon and a leader in the tourism industry, died suddenly on November 3, 2017.
The late Mr Levons was born on November 8, 1949 and was 67 years of age at time of his death.
He was the owner of the world renowned Big Bamboo Guest House, Restaurant and Bar located at Loblolly Bay on Anegada.
Long list of contribution
The deceased served on many government Statutory Body Boards, including the BVI Tourist Board and the National Parks Trust.
At the time of his death on November 3, 2017 then Acting Premier and Minister for Natural Resources and Labour Dr The Honourable Kedrick D. Pickering (R7) described the late entrepreneur and voice of Anegadians as "a man of many words, with a passion for these Virgin Islands."
The late 'Bego' was also a musician with the popular band Vibrations. Today was a sad day for both the Virgin Gorda and Anegada communities as he had touched many lives with his many business skills.
He is survived by 5 sons, and a daughter, along with wife Diane, brother Rupert Levons and sister Myra Faulkner.
Hundreds from all walks of life attended
Including in the hundreds of mourners, family and people of all walks of life at the funeral today November 18, 2017 were the Virgin Islands' Head of Government, Premier and Minister of Tourism Dr The Honourable D. Orlando Smith (AL) and First Lady Mrs Lorna G. Smith OBE, the Minister for Health and Social Development Hon Ronnie W. Skelton (AL), and Ninth District Representative Dr The Honourable Hubert O'Neal.
