Another mystery Billboard? Who is responsible for the latest message?

Is it a Church, new political party, interest group or an individual? Photo: Team of Reporters
ROAD TOWN, Tortola, VI - Our news desk has been bombarded with telephone calls inquiring, into the placement of the latest public message at the Road Town, round-about.

The Billboard reads: ‘TRUST,’ and depicts several hands, palm covering each other at the centre, with an accompanying message, “Progressives United.”

The Billboard went up late Sunday, August 19, 2018, however, the owners have not came forward.

Is it a Church, new political party, interest group or an individual?  Our investigative reporter has set out to find out who is responsible for this message.

Shut mouth catches no flies

Thus far, Town and Country Planning Department boss, Mr Gregory W.  Adams, under whose agency, permission must be sought to erect such Billboards, said he does “not know who the owner is.”

City Manager, Ms Janice E. L.  Brathwaite-Edwards, also claims to not know.

Virgin Islands News Online has since learnt that Jahphix, has rented the space, however, they did not return calls.

This is now the second mystery Billboard to have appeared on the streets of Road Town, in recent times.

Earlier this year, another mystery Billboard was erected on the streets of Road Town by National Democratic Party (NDP) rebels, demanding that their Leader and outgoing Premier, Dr the Honourable, D. Orlando Smith (AL), not vote for the Recovery Board Bill.

On that occassion, it took about 48 hours for the public to learn who was behind that Billboard.

For this new one  48 hours will expire later today August 21, 2018.
