Advance polls to be held on February 21, 2019

ROAD TOWN, Tortola, VI - The public is reminded that advance polls will take place in the Territory on Thursday, February 21, 2019.

This is according to a press release from the Government Information Service dated February 9, 2019, which states that Election officials and workers, police officers, persons on remand and persons travelling in advance of the date of the general elections can vote in this process.

“Persons travelling are required to provide a copy of their tickets to the Supervisor of Elections with their applications. This category of persons should apply by completing Form No. 30 and submitting to the Supervisor of Elections by Thursday, February 14,” the release notes.

Elderly persons, aged 70 years or older, as well as persons who are incapacitated, by reason of a physical cause or illiteracy, may also vote at advance poll but are not required to complete Form No. 30.

For more information, persons may contact the Office of the Supervisor of Elections, located on the ground floor of Ulric Dawson’s Building #6, Russell Hill Road, Road Town, Tortola, British Virgin Islands.

The office’s opening hours are 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday. Persons may visit the office or telephone 468-4380 or 468-3701 ext. 4380 for more information.
