NEW YORK, United States, Sunday July 17, 2016 – He may have said he has no hard feelings after being arrested for using obscene language during a recent performance at the St. Kitts Music Festival. But American rapper 50 Cent showed that he was not quite over it, when he stopped by late-night TV talk show Conan with Conan O’Brien.

The performer, whose given name is Curtis Jackson, suggested that police in the Caribbean country should have had more important things on their minds than throwing him in the slammer for a few cuss words.

“Go catch a murderer!” 50 Cent said on the talk show which aired Wednesday night.

Three weeks ago – on June 25 – 50 Cent and a member of his entourage, Bajar Walter, were arrested after an hour-long performance at the Warner Park Stadium that included his profanity-laced hit, P.I.M.P.

At a rare Sunday sitting of the court, the two pleaded guilty to using indecent language and each paid a fine of EC$3,000 (US$1,111) before being allowed to leave the twin-island federation.

Recounting his experience to Conan, 50 Cent tried to imitate the Kittitian accent, as he recalled how a police officer informed him he would be arrested.

The artiste said that as he sat in prison, before he was released overnight on bail, he began to question why he was in police custody when there were far more dangerous people out on the streets.

“They’re like the murder capital. So you got me here for saying [expletive] and you got a murder rate higher than every place else out there?” he said. “[Expletive], go catch a murderer,” he added, to laughter from the talk show host and the audience.

Two cents its ppl like you who encourages wrong doing and lawlessness. Indecent language is still on the law books in the federation of St Kitts and Nevis. Lock his disrespectful ass up he was reminded that the law existed and warned before he performed yet he went on to ignore the laws of the country. So because its "fifty cents" he shouldn't be arrested? If the local ordinary man can be arrested for it he should also be arrested. When you go to ppl territory obey the laws of the land no matter how ridiculous it may seems.you go over there and use your curse words like how you use them here and see if they don't lock your ass up also. I came here from another island and some of the laws are different but I have to abide by them thats the way it is Way to go Officers. I call that doing your job indiscriminately without favour or affection malice or ill will.

Typical dumb black man comment..... We always want to play victim but when we go against the law and the punishment doesn't match up to the crime we wanna say black lives matter. From inception our race always went against the grain but I prefer for it to be something positively revolutionary than bull like 'half a dolla' going on Conan, disrespecting a culture to justify his jailing suggesting cops go and find murderers. Black people will always be regarded the least because of simple thinking like that. He was warned and he still DID IT. Unfortunately for us, society is catching on. When people realize we not afraid to go to jail, them instead just going to kill. What a shame!!!!!!!!

        Shame-----

I do not support what 50 cents did, but at the same time you need to leave black lives matter out of this. When people realize we are not afraid to go to jail or be killed for a just and honorable cause, they will eventually think twice before they attack us for no good reason. Only a people who are prepared to die for their freedom deserves to be free.

St. Kitts police did that to DMX years ago...

    Why bring these rappers then?

It's like talking a kid to the candy store and not expect them to want candy.

I am sure before they come the promoters will brief them on the laws of the land. The promoters know their music and are aware of the profanity that comes with the music and should either write it into their contract or brief them on it. The Law is the Law and I applaud the SKB authorities for enforcing the Law. For him to defend himself by saying that the Officers should instead be using their time to capture murderers is him missing the point that the law of the land must be upheld no matter how minor the offense. It is not that he has to curse anyways as most of these rappers have clean/ explicit versions of their recordings and therefore he should have different versions to use depending on where he is performing.

Absolute nonsense. Who was 50 cent disrespecting while he was on stage by the few curse words he used? No one. I am sure the place was ram packed. It was nothing short of madness to arrest him for something so trivial. Nonsense
