4,500 face masks donated to Gov’t by Drakes Traders Ltd

FISH BAY, Tortola, VI- As the Virgin Islands Party (VIP) Government led by Premier and Minister of Finance, Honourable Andrew A. Fahie (R1) continues its fight to keep the Territory safe against the Novel Coronavirus, the virus that causes COVID-19, corporate Virgin Islands has been joining the cause.

On June 25, 2020, the Ministry of Health and Social Development received 4,500 KN95 face masks courtesy of Drakes Traders Limited located in Fish Bay, Tortola.

Assistant Manager Ms Michelle Rymer made the donation valued over $20,000 USD on behalf of the Managing Director Mr Christian Esser of Drakes Traders Limited, according to a Government press release.

Masks to benefit frontline workers

Deputy Premier and Minister for Health and Social Development Honourable Carvin Malone (AL) expressed gratitude to Drakes Traders Limited for being a good corporate citizen over the years and for providing the face masks which are required personal protective equipment (PPE) to be worn in public spaces, businesses and establishments as a safety measure during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Chief Medical Officer Dr Irad Potter also thanked Drakes Traders Limited for the generous donation that would also aid the Public Health Division, particularly the Environmental Health Unit who remains on the frontlines to inspect businesses and provide health screenings as Virgin Islands nationals and permanent residents return to the Territory.

    Hope they came from a local maker and not from China... We be foolish to give B. Gates our money...As a matter a fact we need to ban and or stop.wearing masks made in China...
