$30K bail for Parham Town man found with unlicensed firearm

ROAD TOWN, Tortola, VI- A resident of Parham Town, East End, Tortola, was granted bail when he appeared in the Magistrate’s Court recently on a firearm charge.

According to the Arrest Blotter for August 9-15, 2020, released by the Royal Virgin Islands Police Force (RVIPF) on August 18, 2020, police arrested and charged Alfred Lettsome, 51, for Keeping an Unlicensed Firearm.

The arrest was made on August 13, 2020.

Mr Lettsome appeared before the Magistrate’s Court and was granted bail in the amount of $30,000 with one signed surety.

He is to return to court on October 15, 2020.

Wounding

On 13-08-20 at 2005hrs, Police arrested and charged Albert George Jr., 38 of The Valley, Virgin Gorda for Wounding, Unlawful Possession of a Controlled Drug and 2 counts of Armed with an Offensive Weapon. He was granted bail in the amount of $5,000 with one signed surety to appear before the Magistrate’s Court on 24-09-20 at 0900hrs.

Assault Occasioning Actual Bodily Harm

  1. On 10-08-20 at 1130hrs, Police arrested and charged Vernon Lake, 41 of Horse Path for Assault Occasioning Actual Bodily Harm. He was granted bail in the amount of $5,000 in his own recognizance to appear before the Magistrate’s Court on 24-09-20 at 0900hrs.
  1. On 11-08-20 at 0635hrs, Police arrested and charged Anthony Maynard of Long Trench for Assault Occasioning Actual Bodily Harm. He was granted bail in the amount of $4,000 with one signed surety to appear before the Magistrate’s Court on 24-09-20 at 0900hrs.
  1. On 11-08-20 at 1758hrs, Police arrested and charged Jermain Stoutt, 29 of Maya Cove for Assault Occasioning Actual Bodily Harm. He was granted bail in the amount of $5,000 with one signed surety to appear before the Magistrate’s Court on 22-09-20 at 0900hrs.

Theft

On 11-08-20 at 0945hrs, Police arrested and charged Clifford Stoddard, 63 of Lower Estate for Theft. He was granted bail in the amount of $5,000 with one signed surety to appear before the Magistrate’s Court on 01-10-20 at 0900hrs.

Failure to Comply with a Lawful Order Given by Police

  1. On 13-08-20 at 0800hrs, Police arrested and charged Clevan Thomas, 31 of Parham Town for Failure to Comply with a Lawful Order Given by Police, Assault on Police, Reckless Driving, Reckless and Negligent Act, Driving Without Identification Plate. He was granted $5,000 with one signed surety to appear before the Magistrate’s Court on 22-09-20 at 0900hrs.
  1. On 14-08-20 at 2020hrs, Police arrested and charged Rashawn Williams, 20 of Horse Path for Failure to Comply with a Lawful Order Given by Police, Resisting Arrest, Dangerous Driving, Failure to Stop at the Sound of a Siren and Criminal Damage. He was granted bail in the amount of $10,000 with one signed surety to appear before the Magistrate’s Court on 23-09-20 at 0900hrs.20 at 0900hrs.

Breach of Final Protection Order

On 14-08-20 at 0350hrs, Police arrested and charged Clifton Scatliffe, 56 of Fahie Hill for 2 counts of Breach of Final Protection Order, Threatening Language and Insulting Language. He remains in Police custody pending his appearance at the Magistrate’s Court on 18-08-20.

      They always get a slap on the wrist, but let them find you with a little weed and you'll see joke. I can never understand how much of a joke the court system is when it comes to gun and ammunition. SMH
