      I only hope that the day doesn't come when u watch a police officer beat a family member or a friend n ur face right is right but when they willfully abuse their power yes steps will have to be taken. They do turn a blind eye and for the wrong reasons. Sad to say soon we are going to have a lot of Travon Martin in this little Nation because of these officers that we invite to be a part of our family here in these beautiful virgin Islands. Boldly taking advantage of our youths n so many cases as a mother a sister a aunty this must STOP.

      @ be civil: i hope when the police assaults members of your family you find the time to be talking dumb !uck: you not back in Florida: you cant be from BVI and looking to turn this territory into a police state....the police already have ample power to enforce the laws of this territory BUT some of them have the tendency to carry out lawful acts unlawfully; thats why 3 of them up the jail house all now....

      It's getting to the point where police cant be police. Nobody is afraid of them anymore bcus they know any lil thing and the cops in trouble. People want to act up and get on bad and want the police to respect them and not the other way around. The same people mouthing off at TOLA police does be quiet like a mouse any place else them go.

    I hope the other junior ranks are learning. You are on your own. Those in high ranks who will throw you in the pit for petty things have the worst history themselves. Ignore as much as you can. Being a hero is begging for suspension, because you can never me 100% perfect under pressure. When you are gone, life and work goes on with or without you, and crimes will never stop or lessen. Do just what you have to do and that's it. Only you can read your mind

    Nobody is above the law. Good policing is what is needed among the officers and the people.
    Police officers can be stern,but at the same time act humane.
    It is sad to read this article, but at the same time the charges may be were too much in favour of the civilian.
    Let us see how it works out.

    I totally agree that police not suppose to abruse their power but when a civilian make a report to the police and an investigation is been done those officers who are doing the investigation are very poor investigators. You check the female chief inspector and the acting inspector back ground it would show you that they were in trouble too and the police force cover up for them.

    In the BVI Police officers are guilty until proven innocent.This is an allegation and already you can see the direction of the was the people are thinking. someone who was allegedly assaulted by the police is a jerk who is always threatening people.I had a personal encounter with him when he threaten to cut my throat in the presence of witnesses.I understand that he was also deported for killing someone in St Croix. This is no excuse for officers to assault anyone but it is also alleged that he threaten the officer assaulted them, made use of abusive language and as far as I know all those offences the police has powers to arrest. What is strange to me is that I understand that there are several charges laid against the complainant and if this incident did occurred several months ago when did the complainant file the complaint against the officers. also why are these officers placed on suspension even before the criminal charges against the individual goes to trial? what if he is found guilty? The Management of the RVIPF always putting the cart before the horse ,lol

      @vigilante
      Did the officers prepare and file their report ?
      Or is there a personal agenda ?
      Lets look deeper
