ROAD TOWN, Tortola, VI- UpFront Records, the record label, which snapped up Travie Rozae (born Travis Walters) at the Top 7@7 Music Awards Show on March 3, 2012, is looking to release a record of the Virgin Islander as early as June and is keen on starting to work on it even while the paper work for the record deal is being sorted.

This was disclosed by CEO of R.A.Y.D.A.R Entertainment Mr. Ray Daniels at a press conference on March 21, 2012 at the Moorings Conference Room. Mr. Daniels, who was instrumental in getting record label representatives to attend the Top 7@7 Awards, including the owner of UpFront Records DeVyne Stephens, was speaking via Skype from Atlanta, USA.

This was also mentioned by President of Follow The Movement (FTM) Mr. Craig Lake. “We met with DeVyne Stephens and were speaking about the next step for Travis Walters. It would take at least a month for the back and forth with the drafts because drafts have to come to Travis’ lawyer and go back to their lawyer to make sure that everybody is settled on the agreement. But what DeVyne Stephens has requested is that he wants to put out a record on Travis while this is going on. So they want to get a record out there so pretty soon Travis will be leaving to the States to deal with this record.”

Mr. Lake also said it is only a matter of weeks before Walters would be returning to Atlanta to begin his work on the album.

According to Daniels, preparations are already being done to accommodate Walters at the studio. “When we did Rihanna’s Album we worked on it for three weeks before she came to the studio because we didn’t want her to come into the room until we had records that we wanted her to cut and a single first. I spoke to Devyne last night. He is super excited about what we are doing. He just wants to have all the records lined up so that when Travis comes in we will know exactly what records he is going to cut and exactly what records he is going to put out,” Daniels said.

UpFront Records is founded and owned by DeVyne Stephens, who has worked with names such Toni Braxton, Pink, TLC, Usher and Boyz II Men. Stephens also discovered Senegalese R&B singer Akon, who went on to sell over a million copies of his 2004 debut, Trouble, and score hit singles like "Locked Up" and "Lonely."

Meanwhile, Mr. Daniels said the next Top 7@7 Awards would be even a grander affair as he would be looking to bring some of the best choreographers in the business including Laurieann Gibson, who is famous for working with Lady Gaga, Diddy and Keri Hilson; Jamaica, who has worked with Justin Bieber, Ciara and Usher and; Award-wining choreographer Fatima Robinson—who is the mastermind behind routines for pop like The Black Eyed Peas , Gwen Stefani and the late King of Pop Michael Jackson. “I want to bring them down so that they can pay attention to the dancers because there are people who make careers just dancing alone,” Daniels said.

“The first thing is I feel is as though we accomplished what we wanted to accomplish as far as this island goes. As soon as I came back to the States my phone was blowing up from different people who were mad that they didn’t get to come to Tortola and now everyone wants to come to Tortola, which is a good thing because a couple of months ago we didn’t even know it existed,” Daniels added.
