Youth escapes with minor injuries in EE collision

EAST END, Tortola, VI - A young male, Bjon Smith, said to be in his teens escaped with minor injuries after the motor-scooter he was riding collided with a pick-up in East End today, December 13, 2013.

The incident occurred in the vicinity of the East End Police Station shortly after noon and reports indicate the young man, who was identified as Bjon Smitn, walked away with minor injuries to one of his hands.

He was reportedly taken to the Peebles Hospital for a precautionary scan even though it was indicated that his injuries did not appear substantial.

It is unclear what condition the pickup or the motor-scooter were left in following the collision.

    I saw it. They won't learn. Glad he has only minor injuries and hope this is a lesson learned. Leave enough room between vehicles who might have to stop or slow up for sheep on the road.

    what a smile....he might have gone with others who can no longer smile....they are gone....the speeding o the cycles is never before seen....this is not cultural, sport, or anything but ......against all laws and showing off and....in a dangerous way.

      Let this be a lesson to all you young scooter riders. Your life can end in an instant. Thank goodness he survived this. Stop speeding and tailgating PLEASE.

    Just enforce the rules Mon!!! Bikes too big, bikes pass between cars at lights & on roads, bikes take corners on inside, no helmets, helmets with no strap hitch. Violations right in front of police and East End police station. Hit my mirror with illegal pass, I am sick of it!!

    I hope that if he was not wearing a helmet nor licenced or insured that the police charge him accordingly. He should also be made to pay for the ambulance call.
