Young VI basketballers impress @ NBA Jr Orlando Magic Camp in Florida

ORLANDO, Florida, USA- Seven boys from the Sports Vision Academy (SVA) attended the recently held NBA Junior Orlando Magic Camp in Orlando, Florida.

The SVA boys were Niquan Freeman, Kyle Gumbs Jr, Jahy Smith, Ke’mori Daway, Tiondre Martin, Jaiden Cameron, and Jadey Glasgow. They were accompanied by SVA Director Mr Eustace C.  Freeman, ⁠Jovaughn Cameron, and ⁠Roy A. Garraway.

The boys left the Virgin Islands on November 23, 2024, and will return today, November 28, 2024.

Camp’s purpose was for further skill development- Mr Freeman

SVA Director Mr Eustace C.  Freeman said, “[The] purpose of attending the camp is seeking further skill development for the boys. We believe keeping them motivated is a vital formula to development.”

SVA’s Tiondre Martin captured the All-Star Award, J’aiden Cameron received the All Around Skill Award, while Jahy Smith got the Hustle Award.

Mr Freeman added that each player was evaluated by Junior Orlando Magic coaches. The boys were also able to attend the Orlando Magics vs Chicago Bulls game on November 27, 2024.

The SVA’s attendance at the camp was made possible through sponsorship from Travel Wize Ltd., BVI Olympics Committee and HNF.

Mr Freeman thanked the “supportive parents” who allowed their boys to participate in the camp.

    Congrats youngsters. Advise to parents of these young men or young ladies, please let boys be boys because these days you can't tell how they are allowed to carry their hair comb like little girls. These mothers carrying these little boys to hairdressers to have them dolled up like little girls! You all will have a really big problem in this Virgin Island just now with same sex couples......think about it!
