Mr Skelton-Cline; however, had some words for young women who he said are dating “older men with money” and getting nothing substantial out of the relationship but Gucci bags, some trips and getting their hair and nails done occasionally.
“I want to tell you two things. Number 1: Your front is not a public park, it’s a private and secretive garden….and if you are dating these older men with money, make sure you get a piece of land and a house, exclusively, with your name on the deed.
“What in God’s name are you doing? So, when they come off the little trip, that’s it? A little Gucci bag that depreciates? That ain’t gonna worth nothing?”
The clergyman said that if he were a girl, and he would have been a “pretty one”, he would not have been “monkeying around” with any older man for nothing.
“I want land and a house free, with my name on the deed alone. What do you think this is?”
Get off Facebook & social media showing how sexy you are’
Skelton-Cline also encouraged young ladies, as part of International Women’s Month, to desist from constantly making sex appeal posts on social media.
“Get off of Facebook and these social media showing how sexy you are.”
According to the pastor, the virtual space has become a permanent place for some young women to make sex appeal posts.
“Every time I turn around, some girl is on there shaking, showing her stuff. What’s wrong? Who told you that all you have is your sex appeal to sell? Who told you that? Who lied to you? Who told you you got to keep giving up your body for nothing? Who lied to you?”
He encouraged such young women to listen to him “by the spirit of wisdom” and make better decisions.
“If I were you, and you want to date me, you'd better go get me a piece of land. Either buy the house or build the house, or else you can’t have me. Let me go date somebody who's my counterpart, in my age group, and then let us go and grow together, instead of monkeying around with you for a trip. The devil is a liar and so is his mother-in-law.”

This man is struggling with something that is almost beyond the point of no return. Let 2 and 3 gather here in prayer, asking God for guidance and strength to bring this situation to the Will of God. Have mercy, Lord. He has fallen out of your grace and he do not realise it. We know that you never wish for any of us to perish, so please let your Will be done. Praying for you, Mr Skelton-Cline. May God bless you and may He continue to bless these beautiful Virgin Islands.
The broader issues he alludes to such as exploitation, self valuation, and the impact of social media are legitimate and deserving of thoughtful discussion. However, the delivery would have been more effective had it emphasized personal development, autonomy, and long-term empowerment rather than transactional dynamics.
Wishing our territorial daughters a brighter future than frivolous items and short terms entertainment. Pastor Cline always has meaningful points!

He is not totally wrong. The delivery is the problem but yes some of our young ladies, pretty and not so pretty keep changing partners so often that it is mind boggling. Ladies. Some of them get pregnant from each of the partners. This used to be back in the day but modern-day ladies have no call getting in this predicament. On that note: Let me encourage our young black women:
It is time to rally around each other and encourage one another.
Have some self-worth.
when men looking for a spouse very seldom, they will look for a woman with "Baggage."
Respect yourself.
Set boundaries.
Set goals.
Embrace self-love.
