You ‘will face the full force of the law’- ACoP Ullger to criminals
In the aftermath of the Virgin Islands (VI) recording two murders for 2026 in the same month, Ullger released a video statement on August 1, 2026. The VI recorded its first two murders for the year in July 2026: K’Moi Walers died from a gunshot wound on on July 6, 2026, at Huntum’s Ghut, and local businessman Kai de Castro was killed in Brewers Bay on July 28, 2026.
“To those who choose violence, let me be equally clear: the Royal Virgin Islands Police Force will not relent. We will pursue every lead, every suspect, and every opportunity to bring offenders before the courts. Those who seek to terrorise our communities should know they will face the full force of the law,” Ullger said. “We will not relent until those responsible are identified, arrested, and brought before the courts.”
Don’t allow these tragedies to define us
Ullger added that the RVIPF is maintaining a visible policing presence across the VI and is working closely with partners to ensure communities remain safe places to live, to work, and visit.
“To the people of the Virgin Islands, I ask that we do not allow these tragedies to define us. Let them instead strengthen our resolve to protect one another, to reject violence and to build an even safer future for our children and the generations to come,” he encouraged.
He added that the VI remains a remarkable place to live, work, and visit, adding that the love of its people is infectious, and the sense of togetherness is strong.
“We will not allow the actions of a few to overshadow the goodness, compassion, and strength that define its people. Together with faith, unity, courage and determination, we will overcome these challenges.”
