BAUGHERS BAY, Tortola, VI- Pastor, social commentator and host of the weekly radio show, Honestly Speaking, Claude O. Skelton-Cline, has accused Opposition Leader Hon Myron V. Walwyn (R6) of overreaching and being too aggressive in his apparent quest for premiership.

He said this during the Tuesday, January 13, 2026, airing of Honestly Speaking on ZBVI 780 AM.

Skelton-Cline said he has never been in favour of the way Hon Walwyn deals with Premier Dr the Hon Natalio D. Wheatley (R7), adding "you would think that this member has never served in government".

I’ve said it to him in private

Hon Walwyn broke away from the Opposition under the leadership of former Opposition Leader Hon Ronnie W. Skelton (AL) to form a faction of the Opposition, The Alliance, together with Hons Melvin M. Turnbull (R2) and Stacy R. Mather (AL).

The three then ousted Skelton, making way for Walwyn to be sworn in as Opposition Leader.

Hon Mather, in December 2025, crossed the floor, joining the Virgin Islands Party (VIP) administration.

Skelton-Cline said, “One of the reasons why all of this is happening where you are…I’ve told you in private, you’re not listening to me, you keep overreaching, you keep showing that you want this thing too badly.”

He went on to say that a fundamental principle about life is that “any time you see someone wants something so bad, make sure they don’t get it”.

This, he explained, is because these people do not “want it for the benefit of the whole” but for their own benefit.

“I did not mince my words; you heard me clearly.”

similarly, I remember when Ralph told you all that no matter what, do not give the Head Coach the Chief Minister/Premier seat. He warned that Head Coach would destroy the BVI. You CSC and all the VIP members who benefitted from the Head Coach victimization of our own people, did not listen! Now we have to try to piece back these Virgin Islands. Learn to heed your own advice!

to the commentator maybe you are not aware of one of the universal laws "where attention goes energy flows" just you hitting on him all the time will definitely fuel his WIN so keep it up. And he is more qualified for office than you will ever be so stick to your outdated book....
