SEA COWS BAY, Tortola, VI- The man who has represented the Third District for some 24 years, is not ready to hand over the baton just yet.

Hon Julian Fraser RA, the Opposition Leader, has announced he is seeking re-election with the party he founded, Progressives United (PU).

On March 20, 2023, Hon Fraser wrote on social media, “Yes, I’m running. So until I launch, tell your friend to tell a friend.”

And on March 22, 2023, Hon Fraser disclosed via a video clip on his Facebook page he will launch his campaign at 7:00 PM at Finc Building in Sea Cows Bay on April 1, 2023.

‘Don’t give up on me’- Hon Fraser

Hon Fraser, who was first elected as the Third District Representative in 1999, urged his constituents to be reminded of the many good things they have done together over the past 24 years, “and even after the destruction of hurricanes Irma and Maria, we were able to use those experiences and beat back the world’s most potent pandemic ever, COVID-19.”

The veteran legislator, who is being challenged this elections by Kevin C. Smith aka ‘OJ’ of the Virgin Islands Party (VIP) and Aaron F. Parillon of the National Democratic Party (NDP), urged the electorate to not give up on him.

“I have proven to have been your best choice to lead your District 3 through disasters, so don’t give up on me.

“Please come and hear my new plans for the district and the territory, going forward,” Hon Fraser stated.

Am in the 8th, and am a VIP, but it was this man and his steady hand that turn the tide when it came to negotiations with Amanda Millings of the UK.

Real mature grounded leadership. You have myself as an advocate sir. I urge the people of sea cows bay to stand by you and vote you back in.

Post office guy is not a fighter for the people. He should go somewhere else to seek profit.

Try go get your facts straight and stop posting misinformation. More and more people are asking how come the COI, the Governor, the Auditor General and the UK Head of Police in the BVI are ignoring all the questionable conduct of Fraser and the NDP. No mention of the eight-million-dollar plane heist. No mention of the rich eighty folks that got Belongers under the NDP in 2019 fast track programme that did not qualify while the common man who lived in the BVI for years was ignored. No mention of the Sea Cow's Bay harbor project and all the money to their brother and themselves. No mention of the overpriced pier project of one hundred million dollars. No mention of the overpriced eighty-million-dollar new hospital building. No mention of the Georgie Hill Road project that started in the thousands and ended up in the millions with many people land taken and not compensated to date. The list is endless. Something is not right here. Is it they are all working together to try to influence the elections against the VIP to get VIP out of office so they can take over and sell us out for their freedom? SOMETHING IS NOT RIGHT!!!

I don't think he will be eligible for anything additional at this point. He has already done 5 terms. So whether 5 or 8 terms, he has maxed out that package. These guys will all be sitting pretty at our expense.

The country went through the roughest four years of its existence. The VIP had to deal with Irma damages that were not fixed by NDP and had to deal with covid which was the worse pandemic in the last 100yrs, and they did well. They were not perfect, but they did well especially when you compare them to other governments including the UK. Remember the UK told the BVI they are not giving us any grants or funds to help with covid and they further said use our own funds to help ourselves as they have to use what they have to help their UK residents in the UK. The health people in the BVI said if the government do not act swiftly the BVI would have between 3500 to 5000 people with covid and will die and the numbers will continue to increase. The VIP Government was criticized by Fraser and the NDP 1 & NDP 2 for closing down the cruise industry & then the entire country only to see two weeks later the entire world followed the BVI and shut down to try to save lives. If this was not done most of us would not be alive now. As a people we need to remember these facts and give VIP a second term rather than listening to those who sold us out to get power from those who refused to help us but now trying to make us look bad through COI & other actions to save themselves and their face. OJ has my vote with VIP.

Fraser has done all that he could do for the 3rd District and it is time for him to move off the scene. He has now disgraced the good name of the District when he did the Sea Cows Bay Harbour project which was a project for his family, He used the Government funds to do it and was up before the Commission of Inquiry for wrong doing. When being interviewed by the Commissioner about giving his two brothers getting contracts for the same project, he told the Commissioner that he had called a meeting for contractors in the district and no one showed up. What a blatant lie on the people! What was worse is the Commissioner tackled him on the fact that his two brothers had received mobilisation money and that the checks were paid to Fraser Inc. We had Oliver Cills for many years as our Representative and at no time was his name called for such wrong doing. Isn't a shame that Fraser recommended that there be a Unity Government and he himself could not sit as a Minister? Why? Because he is under investigation for the Sea Cows Bay Harbour project!

A Coalition government without Fraser would help to get the Territory get back on track. This is not the time for him to come with new ideas of personal interest. He had long enough to do all he want. Give someone else a chance.
