Yandy Smith to feature at Club Opium’s ‘VI Got Swag’ this Friday
Parillon explained that the reason for the event was the arrival of United States (US) celebrity Ms Yandy Smith and her desire to find a 'hip joint' to party when she comes to host the upcoming Miss BVI pageant set for Sunday August 4, 2013.
Parillon stated, “Normally when you go to places, to different countries, you want to experience the night life, so we figured that we would create an event with her as a special guest.”
In describing the event, Parillon said Club Opium is hopeful to pull off the event like a celebrity styled party and it is expected that patrons come out in their very best of swag. “It’s one of those events where people just come out in their best outfits, like a swag… swag is your style, how you like to dress. We want you to dress how you like to dress, that’s your swag. Your swag is not how people like to dress or how people want you to dress,” he explained.
The red carpet affair is expected to have the full works, inclusive of limousines to match the red carpet for celebrities. He said persons can still come dressed in their suits if that is their “thing”.
The entry fee is $20 for regular patrons and $100 for VIP attendees, which comes with a complimentary bottle of Rosé champagne. The entertainment line up includes VI Showtime, After Dark Sounds of St Thomas, guest performances by Pressure (USVI), Kirk Adams, Aaron da Jedi, DJ Franchise and other guests from New York such as S-Shata.
Reality Personality, Yandy Smith is one of the most sought after and vast entertainment powerhouses to date. With years invested in the entertainment industry and working alongside the likes of LL Cool J, 50 Cent, Missy Elliot, Busta Rhymes and celebrity manager Mona Scott-Young at the multi-media Conglomerate Violator Management, Yandy Smith spearheaded several projects in the music, TV and film world.
In 2008, Smith gained worldwide recognition as one of Billboard Magazine’s Top 30 Executives under 30.
Currently, as the star of VH1’s number one rated show, ‘Love & Hip Hop’, Smith was part of the creative team that brought the show to the masses. During the first season, she worked behind the scenes as a producer and in 2011 Smith made her way in front of the camera as one of the newest cast members.
Two clothing stores, SwagCrew Male Urban Clothing and Exquizit Clothing, have special sales on offer on Friday for any persons attending the red carpet affair.
