HAVERS, Tortola, VI- Motorists and residents of the Palestina Estate and Havers communities have been calling for urgent action on a deplorable stretch of road from Palestina to Havers that was dug up months ago but remains unrepaired, even as other sections of the Sir Francis Drake Highway have been paved.
They will now be relieved to know that work on the said stretch of road has resumed and is expected to be completed in the coming weeks.

“There was a delay on the small portion of the road due to matters beyond [the contractor’s] control, including weather elements; however, the work has resumed and the road will be paved soon,” Minister for Communications and Works Hon Kye M. Rymer (R5) told our News Centre today, Wednesday, September 9, 2026.
The unfinished road had become a point of contention for motorists, and critics were also questioning contractor supervision and project management.
