I do agree that one of our biggest issues on the roads is implementation of the rules of the road. I see people run lights, roll over stop signs, ignore pedestrian crosswalks, overtake illegally, park illegally & a host of other violations. It absolutely disturbs me that there are no consequences. It seems that tint, cell phones and contraband are the main focus of our police force. The rules are there to protect us but it seems we defy rules here in the BVI. Another big issue is the quality of the roads. Believe it or not, roadwork and signage plays a great part in road safety. Yes accidents happen but they should be as a result of someone making an honest mistake not due to a blatant defiance of the law or poor maintenance of the roadway.
