ROAD TOWN, Tortola, VI- The Ceres Juices 10K series kicked off in Road Town on Saturday June 13, 2015 with wins for Reuben J. A. Stoby and Rosmond Johnson.

The race started on the track of the AO Shirley Ground, headed to the Purcell roundabout, turned around to head to the roundabout at Prospect Reef, through Main Street, into Lower Estate and back to the track for the finish.

Stoby, the undefeated 5k champion, turned back the spirited challenge of Julius Farley and Guy Williamson to win in 40:30.03.

After the three men held together for more than three miles, Stoby made his move on the turnaround at Prospect Reef, with only Farley willing to go with the pace until past the four mile marker when Stoby pulled away for a comfortable win in the end.

Farley finished in 41:10 while Williamson clocked 42:54.

Meanwhile, Johnson won the women’s race in 49:23.37 with Nimade Oniasih second in 51:36 and Rebecca Cook third.

Representatives of Proudly African, the distributors of Ceres juices, were on hand to present the top three finishers in both categories with prizes.

The next race in the 5-race series is on July 4, 2015 in Carrot Bay.
