Wins for District 5 & 9 in U-13 BD Basketball!

ROAD TOWN, Tortola, VI – As the BD District King League continued this week, five games took place with a mixture of exciting close match ups and some big individual scores.

In the Under 13 division, District 5 beat District 6 17-12. District 13 was led by Johangel Rodriquez’s 6 points. Naschon Hodge added 5 with 3 rebounds and Reavaughn Garroway 4.

For District 6, Shauliqua Fahie scored 7 points with 4 rebounds and Sajwan France finished with 4 points, 5 rebounds, 2 blocks and 2 steals.

In the other 13 match played, District 9 cruised past District 8, 22-12, thanks to 8 points from Jahlani Leonard. He also notched 2 rebounds, 1 block, 4 steals and 1 assist, whilst Dequan George added 6 points, 7 steals and 3 assists. Troy William scored 4 points with 2 rebounds.

For District 8, Shaqueal Frett top scored with 4 points, 1 rebound and 2 steals and Kyle Penn recorded 2 points, 9 rebounds, 3 blocks and 3 steals.

In Under 16 action, District 5 edged District 6, 37-35, holding on for the win despite being outscored in the 4th quarter. Franklynn Penn Junior scored 12 points with 5 rebounds, 1 block, 4 steals and 1 assist for District 5. Terrique Wattley added 11 points with 3 rebounds, 6 steals and 1 assist whilst Rasheele Roberts finished with 9 points, 5 rebounds, 1 block and 3 steals.

For District 6, Glenal Layne scored 19 points with 5 rebounds and 2 steals while Rami Garcia notched 7 points and Joel Douglas 5.

District 9 then beat District 3, 77-63, thanks to a double double of 32 points and 10 rebounds from Stephon Caul. Jahmoi Dore and Kimron Telemaque both scored 13 points with Dore adding 7 rebounds. Juwan Stevens rounded of the list of top scorers for District 9 with 9 points and 6 steals.

For District 3, Akeem Nibbs hit 20 points with 5 rebounds, 2 blocks, 6 steals and Eral Penn scored 19 points with 4 rebounds. Rellando Rogers also reached double figures in points adding 6 rebounds, 5 blocks and a steal.

In the Under 10’s, the Lakers rounded out the excitement with a 15-8 win against the Spurs. Tyriece Carrasco scored 6 points and Shamoi Dore 3. For the Spurs. Elroy Bollers contributed 4 points.
