TRELLIS BAY, Beef Island, VI- Regional travel opportunities from the Terrence B. Lettsome International Airport in the Virgin Islands (VI) have been enhanced through Winair with the addition of five flights weekly.

This strengthens reliable and punctual access from Tortola to key Caribbean destinations, the airline said in a December 10, 2025, press release.

The expanded schedule introduces same-day connections from Tortola to Barbados three times weekly, and two weekly connections from Tortola to Port of Spain, Trinidad via a seamless transfer in St. Maarten.

The new routes and commencement dates are as follows:

Tortola (EIS) – Barbados (BGI) starting 15 January 2026, with fares from USD 149 one-way, excluding taxes.

Tortola (EIS) – Port of Spain (POS) starting 01 February 2026, with fares from USD 159 one-way, excluding taxes.

Expanded Same-Day Connections from which Tortola travellers will benefit include:

Tortola (EIS) to Barbados (BGI) - 3 times weekly, offering same-day access into Winair’s growing regional network.

Tortola (EIS) to Port of Spain (POS) - 2 times weekly, via a short transfer in St Maarten, improving access toTrinidad for business, leisure, and cargo.

Strengthening social & economic bonds

Minister for Communications and Works Honourable Kye M. Rymer (R5) said the Government of the Virgin Islands welcomes Winair’s expanded service to Barbados and Port of Spain.

“This significant enhancement of regional air connectivity strengthens our social and economic bonds, boosts tourism and trade, and creates new opportunities for business and employment across the Caribbean.”

He also commended Winair for its continued investment in the region and reaffirmed the government’s commitment to ensuring reliable, accessible transport links that support growth, resilience and deeper regional integration.

“We look forward to a sustained partnership that brings our islands closer together and delivers tangible benefits to our residents and visitors alike.”

Strengthening Tortola’s links to eastern & southern Caribbean

The release added that these flights are designed to make travel from Tortola more flexible, more convenient, and better connected to the wider region.

Winair’s Chief Executive Officer, Hans van de Velde, said, “By adding these extra flights from Tortola, we’re improving choice and connectivity for our customers and strengthening Tortola’s links to the Eastern and Southern Caribbean…The new services create more same-day travel options and bring Tortola even closer to major business and leisure markets in our network.”

Have you travelled anywhere? It’s common to charge for bags. Many other airlines do it. What makes you believe you have the right to tell Winair how to conduct their business? You have a choice. Winair is the best one and have proven so.

Not going to be CA cheap fare
    Calculated chk yourself
2 aircraft’s the price would be about $800 plus per person to go pos

    My concern is 2 things:
    1. Will these flights be reliable?
    2. Will the cost remain affordable or will it increase after a few months claiming that the price of fuel has increased? I have noticed that prices on fuel in the BVI only increase regardless of what is happening with the market.

Please Winair can we have a more affordable price please. Just tty it.
You won't have suficient space for passangers you will get because of that fare reduction
