SEA COWS BAY, Tortola, VI – As part of the continued efforts to build on the ongoing works and legacy of Third District Representative Hon Julian Fraser RA, Ms Kishma P. Forbes of Virgin Islands School and Office Supplies and former House of Assembly (HoA) Speaker Mr Julian Willock, will host a Third District Senior Citizen Health Social.

The event is scheduled for Sunday, March 10, 2024, from 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM on the grounds of Therapy Works located at Hannah Bay, Tortola, and is for residents 60 years of age and above.

At the Third District Senior Citizen Health Social, there will be doctors and nurses on hand from the BVI Health Services Authority (BVIHSA) to provide information to seniors on living healthy at their age, testing of blood pressure, blood sugar, and weight, and other general medical quick wins.

The Health Social comes after many concerns were raised about the health of residents and the many health-related challenges seniors continue to face.

Partnership with BVI Health Services Authority

There will also be music and food, and ground transportation will be provided both to pick up and drop off seniors from their homes for those who require this service.

If seniors from District Three require ground transportation, they can call Ms Forbes at 441-6519 or Mr Willock at 541-1119.

Mr Willock noted that he thanks the BVI Health Services Authority for partnering with Ms Forbes and himself, “as we keep District Three healthy and value our golden gems.”

The event is being sponsored by Nagico Insurance, BVI Ports Authority, Delta Petroleum, Caribbean Insurers, BCQS, Nanny Cay Resort and Marina, and Therapy Works.

Both Mr Willock and Ms Forbes have been consistent in organising activities in District Three, including a job fair, donations to the Ebenezer Thomas Primary and, St George’s  Secondary Schools, a food pantry, and their annual back-to-school giveaways.

that long term member needs to handover the mantle

It's amazing that people seldom do these things unless they have political ambitions.

Whilst the intentions may appear to be community minded (which is creditable); there’s much more in the mortar than the pestle. However, time will surely tell.
