White supremacist teen shoots 10 dead in New York
According to CNN, the man, named as Payton Gendron in court papers, was arrested after a stand-off at the scene - a supermarket in the city of Buffalo on Saturday, May 14, 2022.
The shooter live-streamed the attack on social media, authorities said.
The gunman, wearing military fatigues, body armor and a tactical helmet, shot four people in the parking lot of a Tops supermarket around 2:30 p.m., three fatally. He proceeded inside the store where he was confronted by a retired Buffalo police officer working security, police said.
The guard shot and struck the suspect, but without effect due to the body armor, police said.
The gunman then proceeded to shoot nine more people inside the store, police said. He threatened to shoot himself before dropping his gun and surrendering to police, authorities said.
The suspect later appeared in court charged with first degree murder.
‘Abhorrent act’- President Biden
US President Joseph R. Biden condemned what he described as an "abhorrent" act.
"We are investigating this incident as both a hate crime and a case of racially-motivated violent extremism," said Stephen Belongia, from the FBI's Buffalo office, adding there was evidence of "racial animosity."
CBS news reported that the attacker shouted racial slurs during the shooting and suggested that he had a racial slur written on his weapon. He also apparently posted a manifesto online which included racist language and ideas.
The suspect is believed to have driven for some 200 miles to reach the predominantly black area of the city. Thirteen people were shot in total and the majority of the victims were black.

Later on Saturday, New York Governor Kathy C. Hochul said the suspect was a "white supremacist who has engaged in an act of terrorism".
This was "a military style execution targeting people who simply wanted to buy groceries in a neighbourhood store," she said while visiting Buffalo.

The story out of Buffalo is one too often repeated in the USA. Targets have been indiscriminate at times but also the targeted people have been: African Americans, Asian Americans, Gay Americans, Transgender Americans and, for God’s sake, Children!! (Oklahoma City, Sandy Hook, streets and neighborhoods all over).
The situation here involves bad actors in positions of power, abusing their power at the expense of the People.
its jus sickening to hear of this stuff still going on.
