ROAD TOWN, Tortola, VI - Over the past few days, three Members of the House of Assembly (HoA) have been the casualty and sacrificial lambs, despite doing nothing wrong.

It started first with the Speaker of the HoA, Julian Willock, who reported getting a phone call from the Acting Premier, Hon Natalio D. Wheatley (R7) a few hours before the start of the HoA sitting on May 3, 2022, asking him to resign.

Willock stated that the Acting Premier confirmed to him that he has done nothing wrong, or he has no knowledge of him being the subject of any active investigation for misconduct or misappropriation of funds.

The former Speaker noted that he will not make public the other parts of the conversation, as he has the highest respect for the Acting Premier and the information was told to him in confidence, as to why he was being asked to resign.

Two removed from Cabinet for Unity Government

Meanwhile, it was announced yesterday by the Acting Premier that two of his Cabinet Ministers will have to resign from Cabinet in exchange for two members from the Opposition to form a Unity Government.

Gone from the Cabinet will be the Health and Social Development Minister, Hon Carvin Malone, who is also an At-Large Representative.

In a social media post this morning May 5, 2022, Mr Malone noted that he has done nothing wrong and “voluntarily agreed to cede my appointment as Minister.”

Minister Malone further noted that he has “not been listed in the Commission of Inquiry Report for audit or investigation”.

Hon Malone will be replaced by the Opposition Leader Hon Marlon A. Penn (R8).

Vincent Out!  Mitch In!

In addition, Hon Vincent O. Wheatley (R9) the Minister for Natural Resources, Labour, and Immigration, was also asked to vacate his Ministry.

He noted in a Facebook post that there were “unfounded reckless things said about me, which I can assure you are all baseless,” regarding him vacating the Ministry.

He assured the residents of his district and the entire community that his hands are clean. He will be replaced in Cabinet by Opposition Member, Hon Melvin M. Turnbull (R2).

Both Hons Malone and Wheatley will remain as legislators; however, they are now sitting as backbenchers.

However, Mr Willock did not enjoy such privilege and is no longer a part of the fourth HoA.

This is crazy. All and I mean every last member of the HOA needs to resign. Sowande is getting to me now with his power hungry self. England needs to come quickly. Nobody is innocent. The upholder is worse than they thief. All of them is guilty because they benefitted from all of Fahie's ideas and money schemes. They were happy to pass the greedy bill to rob tax payers and no one said anything about the money gram tax. Residents and citizens wake up. Don't be fooled. I'm sick of Natalio now. Fahie's behaviour is reprehensible but he is dangerous. Seems like hell do anything now to that premier title. Sick of him, now.

A few business leaders panicking in accountancy firms and law firms about the money they have given to the VIP party for trade licences and work permits. It’s all coming out at some point!!

You may not believe, but God will deal with your country and your evil heart as well! No sin is greater in Jesus sight! All nations will have a turn to feel His judgment! Your nation’s sins are also piled to the sky! As you can see….the judgment of Jesus is spinning around the world like a Whirlwind.

This is an unfortunate scenario but in my humble opinion she should have follow protocols. This is no time for this type of mishaps. may be if she had follow the right channel who knows if things may not have turn around at that moment. However we as a territory cannot afford to be in the balance, the territory is at stake and therefore it was necessary to fight for our freedom by moving with haste.

One can argue and say the move was wrong but truth be told two wrong can't make a right.

As a territory let's keep praying for the previous premier, our new premier, all members of government, opposition and the entire territory including families. Together we are stronger.
