Week of protest action to culminate with a march to Governor's Office on Friday
One of the organisers of the planned protest, Sharia B. De Castro, spoke to the protestors gathered at the Governor’s Office on Monday, November 10, 2025. She announced that the protest would continue all through the week, concluding with a big march on Friday, November 14, 2025.
March on Friday
The first day of the protest saw a significant turnout at the parking lot of the Governor's Office. De Castro explained the daily themes for the protest: "Monday is Mobilising Monday, Tuesday is Talking Tuesday, and people will gather on an online platform, on Wednesday, [it's] Writing Wednesday, we encourage Virgin Islanders to write letters on that day. Thursday will be Town Thursday, and on Friday, there will be a march from the police station to the governor’s house."
Letters to the media
For Writing Wednesday, she stated, "We'll provide a list of email addresses for local and global media. We also want letters sent to the governor, and this should come from everyone standing here to communicate why we support this cause. On Thursday, we will gather in Noel Lloyd Park for Town Thursday, an open mic event that allows individuals to share their grievances and present ideas for collective action. Then on Friday, we march from the police station to the governor’s house."
Petition
She also encouraged Virgin Islanders to sign a petition, stating, "We’re asking everyone to sign the petition so that when we march on Friday, we can deliver it to the governor. This fight is about Commissioner Vanterpool, but it’s also about all of us because if it can happen to her today, it can happen to any of us tomorrow."
De Castro urged Virgin Islanders to come out in large numbers to join the protest.

There is a hope there will be a Commissioner Vanterpool if her application is successful.
There was an Acting Commissioner Vanterpool.
Who is this Commissioner Vanterpool.
The Ministers are very loose with the truth and there is disrespect to the Governor. Who is the "governor?"
Sometimes the Ministers do not know that we are a Territory of the UK and think that we are a country.
They think they can say anything and that it is true. They think that Virgin Islanders are so DUMB they will believe all that they say.
What is it that happened to her today that is going to happen to all of us tomorrow? We are going to be allowed to carry on in our actual job and not in the one we were ACTING in.
Sounds fair.
