'We want the world to know we are back' - Bobby's Elton S. Leonard
Leonard, the Proprietor of Bobby’s Market Place, could not contain himself from showering praises on his strong ring of supporters for standing by him and offering, for a great extent, their ‘free’ services which today resulted in him defying the odds to re-dedicate the decade’s old business. “I will pay though, one day I will pay,” he said.
The business officially opens for shopping service from tomorrow April 12, 2014.
Leonard had closed the doors of the business which was very popular as one of the few businesses that provided late night and early morning services to patrons. The closure for rehabilitation and refurbishing took some eight months. During the period of the closure he withstood the wild talks of the business being strapped for funds, being on the verge of bankruptcy, closed for good among others, but its reopening has silenced the negatives and embraced those who had confidence in him and supported him.
Mr Leonard said that while the store in itself has become popular for providing supplies for walk-in customers, Bobby’s does substantially well in its online services. “One of the biggest things Bobby’s is known for right now is online provisioning. We serve close to $5-6ml in online services which calculates to about 75,000 customers online yearly,” he told patrons at the re-dedication ceremony.
The reopening of the store comes with most of the previous services, some improved and even some additions like the new smoothie bar. Breakfast, lunch and dinner will continue to be some of the main features of the store with the addition of a professional chef to improve the quality of food for customers.
On hand to encourage the promising businessman were Premier and Minister of Finance Dr the Honourable D. Orlando Smith, Minister for Education and Culture Honourable Myron V. Walwyn and General Manager of LIME Sean Augustine, all of whom were showered with praises for their roles played in the supermarket’s reopening.
