ROAD TOWN, Tortola, VI- Opposition Leader Hon Myron V. Walwyn (R6), who toppled Hon Ronnie W. Skelton (AL) in a nasty fight over the Leader of the Opposition post, will have his Motion of No Conference against the Dr. Natalio D. Wheatley (R7) administration debated today, Tuesday, July 29, 2025.

The motion is expected to fail as all 8 government members are expected to vote against the motion. However, all eyes will be on the two Opposition members of the National Democratic Party (NDP), Hon Skelton and NDP Chairman Hon Marlon A. Penn (R8), on how they will vote.

Hon Walwyn broke away from the party and formed his own, called The Alliance, which includes Hons Melvin M. Turnbull (R2) and Territorial At Large Member Stacey R. Mather, MBE. Both politicians came to office after the 2023 general elections as members of the Hon Skelton-led Progressive Virgin Islands Movement (PVIM).

Mr Walwyn is expected to contest the 2027 elections as the head of the newest political party, the Alliance.

No Confidence- Leader of the Opposition

The Motion of No Confidence, among other things, accuses the Wheatley Government of having a bleak economy and claims that the public has no confidence in the Premier’s Leadership.

The motion also blames the Government for the 20 million dollar overspend on public officers and elected officials' salary increase.

The debate is expected to be spirited and lively; however, the certain outcome is failure.

No, I glad he was standing up and put them ALL on notice. As for the one for the 1st district, let him figure out his position and responsibilities to his constituents...NONE!

Mr Premier please do something about the water situation..at this day and age i have to bathe from a bucket, are we going backwards or forward?
I know it is festival time, but why didn't the premier as the leader of the virgin islands, but i forget he is the PARTY Primier, but yes why didn't he just let us have a local festival and not a music festival? When the festival village is over, you still have to go home and bathe in a bucket. I swear by 2025 things would have gotten better in Natures Little Secret, but trust me it's getting worst.
I know none of you who sit in house assemmbly as representatives have to bathe from a bucket, at this moment you all need to work as a team, to see how best we the population can have water 24/7.
