Walford Farrington found guilty of assaulting child
Farrington was represented by attorney Marie Lou Creque.
A boat captain and resident of North Sound, Virgin Gorda, Farrington dealt his stepchild several lashes with a strap after a complaint of misbehaviour was made sometime in December 2012.
One of the lashes connected with the child’s face, causing some bruises while there were also bruises to the child’s back.
Farrington remains on bail and will return to court on June 14 for sentencing.

My government will not promote abuse of children in the British Wirgin Islands.
You commit the crime, you do the time or pay the fine.
